MIsadventures and My coming out

SO, I have not written in a while, mostly becuase i have been in hospital.
Again :)
MAy i just say that if One more nurse tries to order a psychiatric consultation on me with absolutly no reason behind it, I may very well snap.
I spent about a week in this time, I am very glad to be out.
Speaking of out, Time for my coming out story!

I was always the weird kid growing up. I didnt realize why until quiete a bit later, maybe age 6? that i was in fact, a lesbian! Growing up in a roman catholic family, i didnt know how my family would respond to such news.

So, like any other scared kid, I hid it. For a long time. I decided to come out soon after I saw my first drag queen. She was walking downtown, swishing her hips like i had never seen a woman do before. Then i noticed the adams apple. This amazed me, that he/she had the confidence to defy norms like that, And parade around as he felt on the inside.

When I came out, I told my mom first. I had no idea what to expect, but her reactionsurprises me to this day. All she said was "So?". She didn't care. In fact, she was so happy, she told all my relatives for me. Luckily, none of them cared either.

It was only when i came out at school that people's true reactions showed. Strangely enough, the most comment reaction(at least from the males) was can i watch?
Some girls kicked up a fuss about it, claiming i was Obsessed with them somehow.

Sooner or later, people accepted it, I began to be known as "The Lesbian".

And I am damn proud

Homophobia

I don't understand the deal with Homophobia. What do you care if someones gay? It's not like it affects your life any. I may be young, But I have been out since I was 12, and I have had my fair share of homophobia directed at me. A breif list includes:
-Dead Gophers In my locker at school
-Getting beat up
-Death threats
-Getting My backpack slashed up with a knife
-Various Items of food being thrown at me ( happens almost every week)
-Having My stuff being covered in Peanut Butter (I am Deathly Allergic to nuts)
-Teasing and Taunting
-Shot with Bb guns
Of course, the lsit goes on for miles. Granted I try not to let it get to me, It's hard when you know that some people will never even try to get to know you, simply becuase of your sexual orientation. Just Becuase I am gay, is NOT a valid reason to hate me without knowing me.

Moral of the story?
If you don't like gay marriges, Don't get one, and QUIT BITCHING!!!

Houdini Rat

Last night i had teh scare of a lifetime. I came home from work, and there was only one rat in the cage. Somehow, Pidgeon had managed to escape. I was scared absolutly SHITLESS! Eventually we found her curled up in a pair of slippers, nibbling on A cherry. So glad to have found her!

On another subject, I had a discussion with one of my friends today about the state of the world. Why is the world the way it is?We came up with a number of reasons, but My personal opinion is that in this world, everone only looks out for Numero Uno. IF we cared about people other than ourselves, the world would be such a better place, don't you think? If the rich cared about the poor, and The healthy cared abou the sick, peace could be much easier to find.

Platypus

What is a platypus, and when I say this, i am not talking about the odd looking animals. I am talking about this! Cooolest Frigging water bottle ever, It`s actually really handy.

Introduction

alright, Since this is my first post, I feel like i should indroduce myself.

My name is Shannon, I am 17, I live in a small town in saskatchewan. I am gay, My hair is green, and I have always been the odd one out. I have a strong love for anything living, people and animals alike. I have a 2 rats, Pidgeon and Shitpants, and a cat, Harmony. My cat was one of 2 rescued from the streets.

I don`t really care what people think, about me or my life, I have been through all thats hit before and what people think of me is the last thing on my mind. I love learning things, and hope to soon be a Nurse. I have questionable veiws on life, on people, and am open to almost anything.

I have been discriminated against so much in my life, for being gay, for being different, hell even for being `the ugly ducking`, and I want to leave the world in a better place than when I
arrived.

One day, People will care what I have to say
